I think that the K4AVU crimper crimps the section with the little holes 
against the braid and unlying dielectric.  I don't see how that can be a 
reliable or strong crimp.  In fact, it might damage the dielectric and 
create an impedance bump.

What does the shield get crimped to?  I don't understand how this works with 
solder type PL-259s with having some sort of crimp ring.
