You probably know this already, but L.B. Cebik -- W4RNL -- has written
quite extensively on Moxon antennas
(http://www.cebik.com/moxon/moxpage.html) and has generated design
figures for various bands. From what I've read, the trickiest part is
getting the coupling (spacing, diameter) between the element tips just
right. Compared to a 2-element yagi, the gain for a Moxon is a fraction
of a db less but the SWR and gain curves are broader ... and the
front-to-back is much better.
Mechanical construction might be an issue, since you might need to
stiffen the portion of the elements that point in toward each other. If
you use wire the weight of the wire will pull the main elements toward
each other, and if you use tubing it can sag. Take a look at how the
excellent OptiBeam version for 40m handles it ....
