I had a utility pole for about two years with a 5 ele 10 and 5 ele 15
mounted on it. It was about 75 feet long and buried about 10 feet, if I
recall correctly. I bought and installed the steps. I had thought that it
would be great to have no guy wires but not so.

I disliked climbing that thing very much. If feels like being on the top of
a mast on a sailboat. It waves around. The bottom of a pole of any size is
too large to straddle. This also makes climbing unpleasant. I had a second
tower 150 feet of Rohn 25 and I much preferred to work on that tower.

Now, I don't climb towers anymore at all. The company that installed my
tower works on my current tower/antennas/rotator for $50/hr worth every
penny.
