So...do poles get good marks in the article?
Does anyone remember Telrex ads from the 60s and early 70s? They would not
recognize anything other than a wooden 'phone pole as suitable support for
their antennas.
Darn good antennas for their day... The mainstay at W2PV and K2GL (aka N2AA)
multis ops.
To this day, I've never had as an effective antenna as a pair of 3 el Telrex
20s.... Good enough to win single band US in CQWW SSB in 1986 and 1989 CW
(and set a US record in 1989)
Not bad for pre computer trial and error engineering! OK, mine were on 90
feet of 25G... Phone poles??? Who used phone poles????
