Sounds like a direct short.

Check all coaxial connections, especially PL-259's , barrel connectors and 
the like. I had a barrel connector burn-out. I don't know if it was hit by 
lightning or it may have been a Chinese made connector. I'm going to say it 
was a Chinese connector. (Thought I had trashed these things?)

This past weekend, my previously excellent Inv-L's (80 and 160) wouldn't
take more than ~90 watts without locking the transmitter.  RF feedback.
