i have 30ft of aluminium tower that i want to use as a 80m vertical.i want to
strap on 30ft or so of pipe to get the proper height.has anyone any thoughts on
the base.i think i want to get a sono tube and fill it with concrete.then
somehow insulate the base.this is where the problems or lack of knowledge
start.how is it completely insulated.do i use a balun for the base to feed it.i
have about 80 radials cut and i want to put them on a plate at the base.i also
want to buy everything i need as i don't have time to make the parts,i.e.
fedding it etc.can i get a little coil or do i just measure the tower and pipe
and attach coax.i want to work in the dx window only.also will this work any
better than a piece of copper wire 62ft long with a bunch of radials.all
comments will help.also sources of parts.thankyou kb1jts
