If you make a loop as described here:

but you substitute hardline for the recommended
RG 6 foam, you will get somewhat higher sensitivity
and along with that the inevitable decrease in instantaneous
bandwidth.  This means you'll have to touch up the
tuning control for smaller frequency changes than
otherwise.  I am planning to build a hardline version
just to see what happens.
