Just as a side note to those who might want a discone, stay away ... FAR
AWAY from the radio shack model, or any with HOLLOW elements. You want solid
rod, stainless steel. Also most of the TRAM stuff is pretty bad, looks
shiny rusts quickly. I have an ICOM unit that has been up for over 15 years.
They don't make them any better. As I am in hurricane alley so to speak. I
have TWO discones in the attic to two different radios and operating
positions. I keep them inside so I can operate in bad storms, especially
the bad thunderstorms, etc. Should these be exposed to the elements here
along Tampa Bay ( the salt air and sun ) they might last a year. Again, the
ICOM unit has been up for over 11 years here and 4 more when I lived in
Virginia. FYI - Mike

Gee, Bill, maybe you do not need the instruction book.

Hopefully, you can track down a manual, but if not... maybe
we can figure it out from the basic design, and its measurements,
etc., much the way some of the guys rebuild broken yagi beams
by doing the math for frequency, etc. Some of the guys on this
group are crackerjack at reverse engineering these things.

Good luck on the manual, but don't give up on the antenna if you
do not find one.
