Is is OK to direct bury Andrew's 7/8" and/or CATV 75 ohm hardline?

I do have gophers in the area and don't know first, if hardline can be
direct buried, and second, if the gophers will chew on the outside covering
material. If they do, I don't think they can get through the outer copper or
aluminum shield, but it would open a path for water intrusion.

Tnx,

K4VX has had bare CATV cable on top of the ground and it has been damaged by
rodents chewing through the shield, many times. He finally used the direct
burial CATV and the rodents leave it alone. The direct burial stuff has a
sticky glue like sealer between the aluminum shield and the jacket. If it
does get nicked, it seals itself up. Lew's theory was the rodents didn't
like the taste of the sealer.
Lew also has had several pieces of bare aluminum CATC headline buried for
years and so far, no problems.
YMMV
