Mauna Lani is to my place as West Washington is to East Washington. Mauna
Lani and the Kona side of the island (west side) is downwind of the
tradewinds and IS subject to vog. I couldn't live over there either. If you
visited the island then you are aware that the Hamakua Coast is not downwind
of the volcano and therefore does not have the vog problem that Kona side
has. 13500 foot Mauna Kea also helps to block that vog.
Also the vog is Not from any polution on the Island. The vog is from
sulphur gas.
I know this is off topic, but the above is just plain wrong. Please get
your facts straight.
Sorry for the bandwidth. I would have preferred to do this off the
reflector, but it was posted on the reflector.
If anyone wants to discuss this further do it OFF the reflector.
