Yes and Yes,

I have SS cable on both of my crank-up towers for many
years and the cables still look and perform as new!!!

Yes, the tower manufacture recommends SS cable and sells
SS cable replacements for his towers
Yes, the tower manufacturer recommends going one size bigger
when changing to SS cable...........

    Umm, wrong. Besides the fact that SS will gall while being worked - a
fatal problem - it's also not recommended by the manufacturer.

    Where would this make sense? Did the manufacturer say to do that?!?
 
    Violation of the LXC Prime Directive to "DO what the manufacturer
says" will result in possibly fatal reduced reliability and safety.
