I think the best you can do is to cover the end walls of the attic
with wire screening (as end loading) and then run a dipole between
the screens.  You will need to install some decent sized air core
inductors as loading coils at the center.  (There is no need to
locate them away from the center, because you have the screens
at the ends).  You'll know it is working well if it has fairly narrow
bandwidth.  You'll have to change the coil taps to QSY very far.  Maybe
that works for you if you are on the same frequency all the time talking
to your net.
