I suppose the key to getting over a mental block on climbs like this is that
above a certain height (say, 100'), the consequences of a misstep are the
same. The only difference at 1,763' is the amount of time you have to
contemplate the sudden stop at the bottom.

That said, he did seem pretty cavalier about tieing on, even after he
reached the top and was standing on, what, less than one square foot of
space?

Did anyone see any kind of shock-absorption system? Seems that the way they
were tieing on could result in a quite-painful injury in the event of a
slip, even if they wouldn't fall to the ground.
