I doubt the birds will care much what type of snake is up there, as long
as it's big enough to be a threat to the birds...
One note of caution though, snakes are one of the favorite foods of many
birds of prey so you may actually be attracting them:-)
Around this area at least, your best bet would be the Black Rat Snake,
which is just a plain black snake which will run in the neighborhood of
5 feet long, more or less...
