The schematic shows that the G2800 uses 6 wires. I rewired my connectors to 
add the 6th wire, but discovered it will operate on the original 5 wires as 
with G800, G1000, etc. I don't have access to the schematic right now, but 
two of the wires are for DC to the motor, and three are for the 500 ohm 
resistor that is used to communicate azimuth between the rotator and 
controller.

In fact, if you account for the connector differences between the SDX and 
DXA models, any controller can be used with any rotor.
