The drift pin I have found to be the most useful has a tapper starting at 1/4" 
tapering up to 5/8" with a steel handle  5" long, one piece.  Total length of 
12".
Purchased at Sears and as I recall very affordable.

  I've ordered Klein bull pins from toolbarn.com. They have a number of sizes 
at inexpensive prices with reasonable shipping.


  I like to use a tapered pin that is too large to fit completely through the 
hole.
