tartsitto: Steve   I still use that set up on my 15 mtr  Tower with a distance 
or 400+ ft to the base of the tower.  I use two runs of 12(2) UF to the tower 
and  use a motor start cap.at the base with a normal run of 8 conductor 2x18 
6x20 up the tower.  I measure the V drop to the base and added a 6V filament 
transformer to the back of the Control box wired in parallel with the boxes 
transformer.  Still working after 21 years ! YMMV   Wayne W3EA
