Thanks for all the input on the "shoes" or boots suitable for climbing. I
would indeed be interested in more than a SHOE and would want a boot of some
nature, and for SURE a steel shank in the sole so that my feet won't feel
like I am a parakeet after standing on the wrung of a tower for 4 - 5 hours.
The steel toe does not seem like a pre-requisite.

i don't like steel toes that much for climbing... the problem i have had
with them is on rohn 25 pointy tops sometimes i would have to cram one foot
in between the rotor and tower or in the small gaps and the steel toes
either got stuck or wouldn't fit well.

As long as you are going for work boots don't forget steel toes which
are included in most work boots. Make sure they are comfortable.
