They do say that publicly as a CYA for lawsuits, but their techs agree with all
of us who use Pre-Lube or equivalent to Spray-lube the Cables once or twice (my
frequency) a year. This is what Oil drilling companies and the Navy do with
cables that are tensioned and used in a salt water environment.
Bees wax is what some people use for candles.
