I believe that for that kind of change, the inverted L is hanging just
different enough than the original that it is coupling differently to the
tower or possibly the ground. Was it looser before, or tighter before etc.
I would doubt highly on 160M that the diameter of the wire would move
resonance more than 10khz. However the earlier "insulated vs non-insulated"
would move it. As would the accuracy down to the last few inches of the cut
of the new wire vs the old.
