## I have never stripped an SS Tridon hose clamp. Never had the inner tube
rotate either...BUT
I have never used hose clamps on a .375 inch tip to .500 inch tubing
interface. All mine were
like 1.375 to 1.25 and 1.25 to 1.125 ....etc, etc,and smallest was .5 inch
tips to .625 inch.
All the tubes were cleaned and then had penetrox applied. Those Tridon SS
clamp specs say the
smallest they offer is for .375 inch tubing. Even with a .375 tip, the
clamp is on the .500 portion.
All I ever used was a Xcelite nut driver..cranked as tight as I could by
hand. I never lubed the
hose clamps either. On the hb yagis, I used a hacksaw to make the single
slit, so even the slit
was not as wide as the slot you see on say a 204-BA. IE: my slit was the
width of the blade...and
aprx 1.5 inchs in length.
## what brand and type of hose clamp were you using that would strip ?

How many SS hose clamps have you stripped? I stripped too many because I
could not get the clamp tight enough to prevent the smaller element from
turning inside the larger. I also found that with more penetrox applied, a
tighter hose clamp is required. So my experience differs from yours.
So torque your gear clamp to the max spec and the smaller element still
turns inside the larger. Common sense would tell you to tighten that clamp
further, possibly stripping it, unless you lubricate it.
You have seen my antennas; are there antenna elements falling off
everywhere?

you slop penetrox on it. Unless the yagi tips have to be adjustable, then
maybe use
SS hose clamps for the tips only. The rest of the yagi should be using 3
x rivets
at each joint.
