Operated from St Paul CG and Attu CG stations back in 2004. Both had 1000 ft
Loran towers. No problems at Attu with Loran. Made over 600 QSOs from there.
St Paul was a different story. The noise form the Loran was brutal..never made
a single Q.

Bill K4XS/WL0 back in 04.

There used to be a Loran C station at Cape Blanco, just south of Coos Bay.

They had a 1200 footer there and a 300 for a spare in case the big one blew
down. There were winds of over 100 mph quite often at Cape Blanco.

I visited a ham that was in the Coast Guard there and all the bands were
pretty useless with the Loran C crud. Think that station ran a megawatt
pulse power. 73
