I have for some time wondered about using what's known as sil-fos, or commonly known as _silver brazing rod_. It varies from 15% to just 5% silver, the remaining being copper. Has anyone tried this as a substitute for cadwelding? I have been a refrigeration mechanic, and we use that rod to connect copper to copper or brass joints (with flux) rather than sweat-soldering. They are high pressure joints and it seems as though it would work well for ground rod brazing as well. Any comments, folks?
