I worked with Bud W6VPH before he retired about 5 years ago. It was always fun to drop by his lab and listen to stories from the golden age of contesting and DXing. I remember him discussing his affiliation with that early incarnation of DX Engineering that made the RF speech processors.

Yep, those are the ones. I met Dennis and Bud at W6VSS/K6UA. I don’t remember ever meeting
Ron but I’d heard of him. I think Dennis worked for Cam K6RU around that time. Stretching my
memory also…

I worked for W6HX in the L.A. area doing antenna work in the 60s/70s and got to
meet many of the big guns.

Yes. Ron K6EVR, Bud W6VPH, et al were in Pasadena in about 1968 making RF
Speech Processors for the Drake C Line and other radios. I stopped by on my
way home from ASU during semester break. Just a hole in the wall on a second
story building off the freeway. I was surprised but got what I wanted.
You are stretching my memory...HiHi

Wasn’t the “original” DX Engineering the RF Speech processor folks from the
late 1960s? W6UED and some others I can’t remember…

DX Engineering, Inc. was involuntary dissolved on Aug 24, 1995. The
principals were Lew Sayre, W7EW and Bill Sattler N0XX. Lew has an email
address on QRZ, Bill does not. The original DX Engineering, Inc. was located
in Brownsville OR and was formed in June of 1989.

Hi TT'ers

Mike I think Dudley W5DUD is talking about the old " DX Engineering " that
resided in Brownsville, Or. 97327

I can't remember this hams call ??

I installed few of his antennas in the late 80's early 90's The element
to boom were black some kind of plastic extrusion. similar to M2
