I have a couple of C3's and they flat work. They blew away a TH7 much smaller, lighter etc. I bought them when Tom still had F12. I heard Tom is building antennas again.

This observation flies in the face of measurements performed by K7LXC and N0AX c.a. 2000, and well documented in the report linked below. Their test methods are first rate, and so are their credentials. Since N6BV retired about five years ago, N0AX has been editor of the ARRL Handbook and the ARRL Antenna Book. I've contributed to both, and have had considerable technical interchange with him.

Between us, NI6T, W6GJB and I own three C3SS antennas, all bought used for our contesting group. We use them on FD and on county expeditions for CQP and 7QP. We love this antenna, which offers very good performance in a lightweight, compact package.
