I use XHHW. same as THHN but without the clear plastic that isn't UV resistant. Not
in stock at Home Depot stores but available online.de Dick NY1E

FWIW: some 20 years ago, I constructed a 450 ohm open wire line
using XHHW wire (stranded aluminum 4 AWG). After all that
time in the sun, it is still like new.
