Great to hear about those old rigs. My first rig in 1958 was also a Globe Scout
65A, and Receiver was a 1937 Halicrafters SX16 Super Skyrider. I have a picture
of that station, but no way of attaching it to this email. I graduated to
Heathkit DX-100 and Collins 75A3.
Most of my rigs back then were war surplus gear (ARC-5 and the like). There was
also a SCR-572 which I think I had on 2M. I can remember listening to the first
Russian Sputnik-1 satellite on it (beep, beep). My mobile rigs then used
dynamotors for B+. Great memories. - John Owens - N7TK
