I'm citing his results. Tom is a very good engineer, especially with the
practical design of antennas and terrain, so I value his work in that
area. If I remember correctly, it was done at higher HF. He's produced a
number of very innovative designs for verticals.
I've spent a fair amount of time driving around NV and AZ over the
years. Terrain and soil vary widely. It's not all desert.
