Wow ... it turns out that there has been a lot of misinformation
starting with the original post. I just got an answer from the guy who
makes the QCoils, and he signed his email as N4SF, not N6SF like the
original post said.
N4SF tells me that the wire he uses is called BUSS10 (for the 10 gauge
version) and it is made by (or at least distributed by) a company called
Wesbell Electronics LLC. Wesbell's website says that the wire is tin
plated, not nickel plated like the QCoils website says.
I guess that's why we call ourselves amateurs ...
