Jim, take a look at the reference I provided for a coiled-coax choke I
made for the FM broadcast band. It measured 63k ohms at resonance. The
impedance dropped off toward the edges of the 20%-wide FMBC band, but it
was still adequate. I see no reason one of these couldn't cover a single
HF ham band at 40m and above, where bandwidth is no more than a few
percent. I think a coiled-coax choke is too big below 40m.
