I just don't see how analog and digital
QSO's can be combined. They are two
totally different things Apples and hot
peppers...the two "systems" just do not
fit together. There is ROOM FOR BOTH,
with each having good and bad points.
FT-8 or the like does not appeal to me but
I'm not willing to say those who use such
modes are wrong.
I'd like to see the systems split as proposed,
but I'd prefer to split the times in a manner
that offers operation for both setups on each
day...say half day for each on Sat and Sun for
example. We all know that conditions often
change a lot from day to day.
As far as ARRL making changes goes, I don't
think much will happen without a firm "petition"
from those involved. If you read QST on a regular
basis you won't see many articles on VHF weak
signal stuff. That may be because VHF'ers don't
write them. Wish we had a brand new Ed Tilton!!
