 Equipment: TS930, AL1200, Shunt fed 65' tower, 350' beverage.

I had planned on doing an all band effort, but lack of ambition caused by
too many hours at work the previous week and S7 line noise on 20 & 15 made
me decide to do a single band effort on 80. I had just got the beverage set
up the previous week, and have not really spent much time DX contesting on
this band. I was curious to see how much the beverage helped (it did big
time!). It was a good learning experience.

Since my contesting experience is limited on this band I would be interested
in hearing what others in the Black Hole area of the Midwest thought of
conditions on 80 this year vs other years. Email me directly to save
bandwidth! Saturday night seemed much better than Friday.

It was an educational contest for me, someone who spent most of the last
solar cycle specializing on 10 meters. All told, I much prefer 10M with a
Solar Flux up around 200! Think sunspots!
