Club: River City Contesters

Comments: I was sure, with the new section, that I would set a new
Division record for sure. No dice...I did better last year, even WITH
odd score reductions from Newington. Conditions seemed very poor, 20
closed before sundown, 40 good only for a couple of hours. Last year, 40
was gangbusters all night...not this year.

Ran two radios with two computers, two monitors, two keyboards,
networked. I think I like it better this way. Don't have to worry about
odd things happening when switch between Radio 1/Radio 2 on CT. BUT,
will try TR for sure before next year...gotta be a better way!

Nice to work two VE8's...VY1JA and VE6SH/8. Only worked one WYO, it was
mult # 78.

Odd moment: having BOTH NY3M and NY3G call at the same time, trying to
get them to believe I was actually copying their calls correct. That was
an interesting couple of minutes!

Station: FT1000/Alpha 76PA, IC765/Alpha 76PA
Antennas: 80- rotary dipole at 158', 40- 4/4 at 150'/80/, 20/15-Stacked
KT34XAs at 110'/60', M2 Skip log at 100'.

Alpha 77 blew up in the first 10 minutes of the contest, before I even
made a QSO with it. Peter Dahl filter cap shorted, this makes the second
bad one! Hence, my comment about being "high power", don't think I was
even running 1500W on 15 meters.

Will be sending in paper logs this year for a change...no disks.

W6GO will be multi-single in Phone SS, C U then.

73, Jim N6IG
