Comments   
First outing in this contest, which was both tiring but fun. We cut the
planned station down at the last minute due to work committments and
criticism from the chairman of the HF contests committee. We used SDIOTA
rather than networked software to avoid any accusations of cheating. As
it turns out it seems that other stations were running the sort of
monoband at 120ft set up that we had originally planned along with
networked software! We understand that the rules may be changed for next
year, which is to be welcomed if it provides a more level playing field.
Most of the antennas were brought down from Scotland on the Thursday and
we had good wx on Friday and Sunday pm to install and dismantle the
set up. Only problem with wx was very heavy static rain late Saturday
pm. All in all a good introduction to this contest and good practice in
running pile ups prior to GM7V multi multi entry in CQWW SSB 97.
