Comments:
Conditions on 20 & 15 were just terrific. I had my best hours
ever in CQP at 140 and 137. 10 even opened up for 1/2 hour. 40 &
80 were a different story. On 80 I only made 1 QSO east of the
Mississippi (N8UM in TN, not far east.) I only made 165 QSOs
total on 80 compared to over 300 last year. Was I an alligator?
Let me know if you called me on 80 and I CQ'd in your face. 40
seemed squirrelly. And 160 didn't happen for me as my balloon
vertical had a leak and I ran out of gas.

As a sign of the good propagation coming back, I worked 194 DX
stations as opposed to 167 last year. The difference was that a
lot of DX called in on 15 and a lot called in on phone. Maybe I
should have used the lower antenna by itself, as often the DX was
louder than the domestic stations.

I was pleased to break the LAX record, taking the crown away from
that devil AB6FO. The LAX record should belong to K6LA! Going
over 300k points for the first time in CQP was a big kick, as was
handing out serial numbers over 2,000 for the first time. The
last section to call in for the sweep was UT at 0539. Usually it
is WY or VE8 that makes me sweat it out.
