Managed to get on for a few hours each night/morning Conditions on
Friday Night / Sat morn from here not great .
Saturday night seemed to be much better, at least quite a few more
stations heard my peanut whistle signal.
Finally worked W7GG in a contest where it counted ,
called him for 20 minutes while he CQed in my face , however I didn't hear
him
work any body else during that time.
Mebbe now we can find each other again in other tests ! And he will
withdraw his request to have NL removed from ARRL Section List hi hi .
100 watts to droopy dipole hard work , one consolation , given the low
power
and antenna inefficiencies, any body who could hear me could work me hi,
obviously the reverse was not true.
Dont know why guys who cant hear well run their CW at 40 WPM,
run it back to 'em at 40 and you have to qrs and repeat 10 times.
Mebbe it was my poor SIG ??
I have not contested on this band for about 10 years there have been some
dramatic changes in operating habits /practices , not all for the better.
So much for dx windows , there was plenty of dx in there but there were
many
W stns from 1/2/3 land 40 over up here in the window CQing, guess the
recommended window only applies to SOME.
Had lots of fun hope to be back with some power and better antenna
thanks to the stations who worked to dig me out.
