Poor VE's....wonder how they did???? Only worked a handful-, mostly BC.

Had a lot more fun on the low bands than in the recent CQWWSSB- but bummed my
multiplier did not get more attention........pleased with the mults worked but
dispite holding my freq, I only had a few good runs, mostly on 15 and 80
meters ...( I am not a great CW op to begin with, but I'm really bad with that
fun SS exchange- phew- QRS became part of my exchange- hi)

Surprisingly, I did worked 2 other WY stations ground wave on the low
bands........but not one WTX, go figure...maybe the Marfa lights effected
condx there..

I wanted to get at least 100 Q's per band- but after spending an hour CQ'ing
on 160 meters Saturday night, without a peep, and dead condx's on 10 meters
Sunday.....my goal expired- should have looked for Canada on 20 meters towards
end of contest but decided to make a statement for us low power guys on 80
meters...glad I did as I had my best run the last two hours of the contest
with 60 or so qso's on this band...found a quiet spot, sort of, around 3.014
or thereabouts- quiet as in only 2 other stations, one a B station, right on
top of me dispite a good narrow band filter...

Lessons learned in this one......in SS, holding a freq beats S&P everytime-
and next year, will go SB.......it makes a lot more sense with a WY
multiplier...as good as 40 and 80 meters were from my vantage point this go-
around....you will probally find me there next year- C-Ya in SS SSB! Paul
