Comments:

After 89 qsos in the ARRL DX, 168 in the CQ WPX, 56 in CQWW (broken
antenna)and
164 in Sweepstakes, I was beginning to wonder if I had any reason to
continue
contesting. My station is miniscule (Icom 735 and Cushcraft R-5), my
location
is terrible and reading about how even very casual operators out do me gets
old.

Just maybe though, I could work enough stations in the 10 Meter contest to
have
the largest score for a Tech+ operating the contest in Nebraska (how many
can
there be?).

With that incentive I sat down at the radio and proceeded to have the most
fun
ever in a contest. Not only did I more than double my largest qso total
ever, I
got to do a couple of runs. In fact, for a few moments, I had the rate meter
in
triple digits. Wow! More important than that, I was able to give several
people
a new multiplier and still others a new state for WAS.

3V8BB and KH8/N5OLS were among the 31 DXCC entities I worked and OH0Z
represented an all-time new one for me. I picked up 40 of the 65 W/VE
sections.
Colorado was the closest.

Other highlights were working a station with the same suffix as mine, having
people call me by my first name during the contest and having stations send
me
email afterwards thanking me for working them.

I hope your experience was a good as mine.
