Comments:

Gave the Yaesu FT847 a play during the contest.  No match to the 930S
(which is
still on the injured reserve list).  Even with the INRAD 400Hz CW filter, the
ALC seemed to be affected by distant strong singals and "ghosts" appeared some
distance away.  Better performance on SSB.  The internal Preamp works well,
but
I am surprised how mediocre the internal preamps in the 847 are given the
multi-board design of the radio.  Kudo's to the DSP-9+ and Daton FL3 again.  I
just love using these on CW, especially the FL3.  A newly built W9GR DSP is
queued up for the next contest.

Truly disappointing performance from the local "Elephants" (meaning W1's and
W3's).  Missed a few local sections due to a lack of LISTENING!  Give the
AGC a
chance to drop guys - there's people calling!  Overall, the band was simply
awesome and it was great to hear the band so full of signals.  Thanks for the
