Hours Operated: 10
Station Equipment:
Ten-Tec Omni VI+ (25 watts output)
CC A3S w/40m Add-on at 70'
CC A3 fixed on NW at 40'
40m Inv Vee at 65'
80m 1/4-wave half-sloper at 70'
w/tuner for 160m ops.
I ran 25 watts this contest to overcome an intermittent
connection somewhere in my A3S--I'm not a cold weather climber.
Also, found my Radio2 (Delta II) was kaput! with no power output.
What a difference 25 watts makes over 5 watts, though. Nice CQ
runs and quick responses to my S&P calls. Being able to work
stations on each band makes this contest move right along.
I moved a bunchof stations to other bands. Missed a couple
during my CQ runs, though...I think I need some sort of
electrical interface with TRLog in my chair seat to "buzz" me to
remind me "Hey, Stupid! Move this guy!" Most all I moved I
worked. Thanks to all!
At some point within 2 hours of the end of the contest, it looked
like 600 QSO's might be possible. It was a horserace right up to
the end. 12 QSO's and 3 Mults in the last 10 minutes--2 Q's, one
a mult (thanks WD0T!) in the last minute!
Fun! Fun! Fun!
CU in August!
