SOAPBOX.
Worked all day Friday on antennas trying to resolve the last "RF in the
shack" HP obstacle on 40 meters.  After redoing antennas, lotsa toroids, RF
chokes, and an artificial ground could get to about 700 watts before
problems erupted.  Had a lot of family commitments on the weekend, so
decided to try single band 40M since I could be on at night.  Also was
influenced by the great signal reports I got out of Europe with the beam and
700 watts over all this ocean in my front yard.  Missed all of the Saturday
evening action due to family dinners, etc, but had a blast!  QRN on 40 was
tough late Saturday night.  And the JA's are great OP's!  Path to SW Florida
is pretty slim on 40 but they stayed with me to get the calls correct.
Heard my fellow FCGer K4XS running like crazy all night.  Great score Bill!
