Comments:

I realized I now need sleep during the contest. I used to operate all but 2
hours. I would sleep on the linolium floor next to the operating position so I
would not get too comfortable. Now around 2:30 A.M. I decided sleep is more
inviting than a few extra Q's. Wrong plan. There is always next year though my
enjoyment of sleeping has been increasing with age. My hat is off to the 60
year olds that run the full 48.

Conditions were good though it seems that when the SFI is high everyone rushes
to 10 meters leaving 15 / 20 vacant.

I sorely missed the JA runs. 33% of the contacts were Asia and 33% were Europe.
This says the East Coast really had the advantage with good propagation almost
all the time everywhere. I think many of the JA boys have chosen computers over
radio. Something to consider when the ranks thin over the next 20 years. Still
hard to accept when contesting is so deeply rooted in our psyche.

Enough rambling.
