Comments:

Spent several of the first 12 hours trying to make NA key a FT-1000MP without
cutting off the first character sent. Did not know I had a problem until a
station on 40 meters alerted me to such.  Wondered why everyone was having
trouble getting my call the first time sent.  Finally went to the e-mail
archives on conesting.com and found the answer - this is a known problem and
there is no easy solution.  A fix in NA is forthcoming but apparently it has
not been implemented yet.  Went to bed and started over again Saturday morning
with a footswitch to key the FT-1000MP.  Fun contest with great conditions, but
the aborted start put a damper on the overall weekend.
