Comments:
This was the first serious major contest effort I have
done in several years. I got in about 37 hours of
operating using an IC-765 at 5W. Antennas were:
160m Delta loop 120' at the top
80 m Dipole at 90'
40 m 2 ele KLM @ 90'
20 m 4 ele @ 90'
15 m 4 ele @ 80'
10 m 5 ele @ 80'
Something was not right with the 80 meter dipole -
almost no one heard me. That will be corrected by the
next contest.
I called CQ a couple of times, but never had any
answers. All 790 QSO's were S&P.
Highlights - HC8N on 160 - 10 (except for 80 !!), PJ4B
on all bands - including 80 - they get my "best ears"
award! Working XV (Viet Nam) on 15. CN8WW was a
beacon out of Africa.
