K1KY - Tom:
Yee-haw! Heard K4TCG on 2FM at the very beginning and
a few other times, but could not get their attention or
their reply was blocked by pager noise at our location.
Our 2nd Annual Birthday party for K4RO & K1KY combined
with a Multi-Op TQP effort is a fine way to celebrate!
No equipment failures, and as usual, we were putting
stations and antennas together as the contest progressed.
First contest for KF4ENY with his new ticket and I must
say he did quite well and started to learn how to "move"
stations from 2 Meters to 440! Welcome Robert, I know you
are now "hooked'!

Check out the pictures! http://www.k4ro.net/image/tqp99/
Thanks to KF4PPA for the special "Garfield B-Day Cake"!

K4RO - Kirk, My name is Kilo India Radio Kilo!

Another fine birthday celebration / QSO party at the
CAT house. (K1KY and I have birthdays this week...)
The W4CAT station is really shaping up, with effective
antennas on all bands. Tom's station gets more competitive
every time I visit. The ability to change bands and
antennas is getting easier all the time.

There seemed to be a lot less propagation to the west coast
and the Salmon Runners, but great conditions to Europe.
The TH-5 at 20 feet on the edge of the hill really plays
well into EU on 20 meters. There seemed to be a bottomless
pit of stations on 20 meter phone, so that's where the most
time was spent.

Highlights included watching K4OOO run 'em on 20 meters,
and the fabulous cake brought by KF4PPA (see photo.)
Thanks for the QSOs, and we'll see you next year!

K4OOO - Larry:
Good learning experience for me as I can feel the improve-
ment of technique and just plain getting comfortable. Thanks for
the opportunity to help and learn. And the food, fellowship, etc.

KE4JUH - Jim:
Thanks to the rovers who gave the V/UHF station op
something to do...

K3CQ - Bill:
It was a joy working with you cats. Nice setup. Friendly people.
And I was amazed, no one smoked. I guess cats are allergic to
tobacco. Hurray!

KF4PPA - Elaine (Observing):
When you run across a pig farmer who won't budge, don't waste time
trying go get him to move. (Chances are he won't budge anyway.)
Of course thats difficult if you've already go a run going.
Guess it'll be a judgment call, huh?
