Comments:

WHAT A BLAST! The band (10m) opened with a bang, first QSO was LP to EU. No equipment failures except for a power brownout that lost 1 QSO when the PC rebooted. The 40m rotary dipole erected fro the test at 18m was virtually a waste of time, no one there with the higher bands so good. PLenty of LP to EU on 15m for the first time since I worked it as a novice with 15W in the 1980 peak. Conditions were fantastic here, with 105 countries worked during the weekend. However, it was hard to know where to point the beam. 15m usually the staple diet of JAs was not open to Asia... but LP EU instead, almost 135 deg off.

I even politely but firmed shut the door on a very beligerant neighbor on Sunday night to keep the score going despite their TVI... eh what TVI!

Hard to raise locals during the night when the rates drop dramatically. Managed to hit a few personal goals though,
exceed 120/hr for an hour
exceed 2000 QSOs
exceed 4 million pts
Hopefully, the last one, to make the top ten in the world will be realised next March when the results hit. Thanks to all that called me through my s9 city noise. Promised the wife I won't contest at home anymore, she's afraid someone will turn up throwing rocks or worse..... Loooking for a rental in the country with no noise and a nice take-off.

Rig FT-1000mp (flawless!) and FL2100z with semi-dead tubes approx 350 watts
Antenna TH6DXX at 50ft and a rotary 40m dipole at 60 ft.

Had a ball guys, thanks. Best of luck to the 11 year old W6 novice who worked me. Go get em lad.

Cheers,

A very happy, Tony VK3TZ
