Comments:

As the pool of possible operators for our multi-op effort from CalTech
dwindled, it became clear this would be a single-op or nothing. I couldn't be
there the whole time so put in about 18 hours. Ran in the mid-hundreds for
almost 5 hours when rig froze; no amount of button-pushing or power cycling
would bring it back from zombie status. (My old Drake line would never do
that!) I moved log files to a back-up position but found glitch in rf cables.
So almost an hour of precious run-time later I was back on the air ("Hey, what
happened to my run frequency?"). My apologies to those who lost time calling
me after the calamity and my thanks to Mike W4EF who came over to perform CPR
on the main rig. The pain of having to quit early was eased greatly by having
snagged the elusive VE5 mult for a sweep on my last scan of 10m before pulling
the plug. Thanks to everyone for the contacts! Marty N6VI
