In the days before the contest, the US east coast was suffering from the
worst heat wave of the summer. Relief was in sight for the weekend, but
at the cost of a weather front passing through bringing with it a strong
line of thunderstorms, and the resulting QRN on LF on Friday night. Saturday
evening was much better from the QRN standpoint. However, Sunday at 23Z
a thunderstorm passed right over the QTH, and we had to QRT for 20 minutes.
In general, conditions were much improved over last year's disaster.

Highlights:

* Great competition as always from our pals at KC1XX and K2NG. Too bad W4AN
  had to pull out.
* Nothing important broke!
* Went for the Hat Trick (2M, 2000Q, and 200 Mults), but missed by a bit on
  the mults.
* Timed the QTC effort perfectly this year, catching up with the QSOs at
  22Z on Sunday.
* First time ever over 2M for us in WAE CW.

Lowlights:

* Listening to KC1XX running on 10m, and not being able to hear even a whisper
  from the European stations.
* QRN and forced off time near the end due to thunderstorms.
* The occasional CT crash, and the resultant "pass of the diskette" to get the
two computers back in synch for QSOs and QTCs. (There's a feature there
waiting to be written into CT, Kenny!)

Thanks to:

* DARC for sponsoring such a fun contest.
* K3WU and especially W8FJ, who provided needed Saturday night relief.
