Comments:
Fabulous low-band conditions with all sorts of neat stuff (HS0, 9V1, VQ9,
9M2) calling in on 40. I was even able to break the pileups on 160!
JA was disappointing though. Worked only about 140 this year on all bands
vs. about 600 last year.
Missed JA opening Sat. night on 10 and spent two hours cqing in futility
on Sunday. Lost another 1 hour trying to diagnose and fix the 10 meter
"problem". On Monday, I discover that I had forgotten about the 10 meter
switch with the 3L 10 on a 12' boom in a tree @ 30' pointed Southeast.
Mystery solved. Condx must have been great on Sunday on 10 as I could
actually run some guys being down 30 - 40 db!
Personal best 218 hour to EU on 15 Saturday. Even had the "last 100"
CT ratemeter up to 258! WOW!
Nice also to have a personal best score and break ny US record.
This contest was lots of fun as always, and I always enjoy being able
say "hi" to all my friends around the world. What a hobby!
Congrats to KI1G on an unbelievable score, and to W9RE, K5ZD (W4PA), W4ZV
and many others.
More comments in a few days if I can find some time. Tnx for the qso's and
