Comments:
I really enjoy the concept of a 24 hour DX contest. I love the pressure of
catching every opening. Starting at 8AM local time is nice too -- just like
going to a normal day at the office. It is also nice to only have one
sleepless night. Not sure I would have made it through a second 24!
Conditions were up and down. Fantastic activity from Europe (and especially
Russia) made for some great hours. This contest definitely favors us in W1.
We get conditions to Europe all day, we usually don't have thunderstorms, and
we are able to work Europe on the low bands.
Low bands were unbelievably quiet. Heard many HQ stations on 160 that could
not hear me. Worked VK4EMM on 80m about 50 minutes after my sunrise.
WriteLog is superb logging software for SO2R and I have been getting better at
my technique since last fall. I did a lot of QSO and multiplier chasing on the
second rig.
Might have one bad multiplier. G5BM gave me "GARS" as his exchange. Anyone
know what that is?
